Our Expo.02 Special with Mr. Kellerhals:

See the following portrait, published in the Swiss magazine "Schweizer Illustrierte", No 27 of July 1. 2002 (translation by Silvia Groner):

He's the Expo's secret star: as the special assistant of Jean-François Roth, head Expo ambassador and Member of the Cantonal Government of Jura, who's known for his knack for the out of the ordinary. Not that Hans Kellerhals from Zurich would ever describe himself as peculiar or extraordinary. No, he would say he's "perfectly normal". Perfectly normal? Something about Hans Kellerhals is irritating. Is he who he pretends to be? When he begins translating commentaries into three languages, explains the program, reminds the groups to line up properly, marches through the exhibition grounds head and umbrella held high - that's when people all around start to whisper. The more people who visit the Expo, the Swiss National Exhibition, the more come to know and love Kellerhals. But as far as he's concerned, he remains discreet: "I don't want to be a prominent figure. I'm just doing my job as organizer. For him, the Expo is THE event of the summer. The Arteplage in Yverdon is among his favorite places at the exhibition. "All those flowers! Fields of daisies and geraniums, radiant in the sunshine - just delightful!" Not that Kellerhals is one who's only interested in appearances. "Me and the Universe", that's the theme of the Yverdone Arteplage. Kellerhals is convinced: "I'm not the only one who ponders the question "Who am I?". He spends about half an hour in the pavilion by the Swiss Confederation, dedicated to the exploration of that question. "I take time to explore the Expo." For him, that's the most important thing: "After visiting each pavilion, I'm so full of impressions, so I like to go for a short walk, sit by the side of the lake, have a drink or eat an Expo sausage!" Hans Kellerhals feels somewhat offended when he hears someone derogatorily call the Expo a "sausage festival". "Just because somebody likes a good sausage doesn't mean he's a hick or a country-bumpkin." Kellerhals's mind isn't as narrow as it may appear to be. He even ventures into the tunnel "Le premier regard", a pavilion that sheds some light on the mystery of attraction and seduction. Back in broad daylight, signs of a frown and a few drops of sweat have appeared on this forehead: "Ugh, yes, that one's a bit much." (Monique Ryser, Schweizer Illustrierte)
